I just finished watching VH1's "Totally Gay" Show. It was a documentary that walked through the evolution of "Gay America" (through the influence of the media, of course) starting from the 80's all the way into an even Gay-er America for the future. Why was I watching the show? Even I was asking myself that question. Well, lets face reality. Gayness seems to be everywhere, in music, movies, tv, commercials, ads, stores. Gay is one of the top political issues, and discussed heavily in homes and on the streets. It's promoted in schools, communities, and here in livejournal.
What does the "Gay America" have to do with me? A young, single, heterosexual, Christian female. Well, I happen to interact with homosexuals almost daily at my job, for a handful of my co-workers are gay. There are loved ones in my life also who are struggling with or have struggled with the issue of homosexuality. I'm planning on moving to a city that has one of the largest gay communities in America. And I am an active participating citizen of this nation who is responsible to vote for(or against) the very issues of the gay rights movement. Those reasons alone should clarify why I should take some form of concern for the "Gay" America, for all of this stuff is taking place in the nation I live in.
So yeah, where am I heading with this? Well, I believe that the Bible is Truth. And when I say Truth, I mean solid concrete Truth. I also believe that there is a clear cut Right and Wrong. No gray in-betweens. No contradictions. No, "whats right for you is right for you, but whats right for me is right for me." No relativism. Just Black and White. Right and Wrong. The Bible clearly states that marriage is a life-long commitment designed for one man and one woman, together. And that sex is a beautiful thing designed for a husband and a wife to enjoy.
