Aphrodite was loved and wanted by many. She was not only the Goddess of Love, but the Goddess of Laughter, as well. She was known for her beauty and fertility. Aphrodite could have anyone or anything she wanted. Aphrodite had unique powers, she could charm and convince any god or human to do anything she wanted by using her charm. Many looked at her as the goddess of love and romance, but others might say that she was the goddess of lust, desire, trickery and sex appeal. Either way, Aphrodite's life starting from her miraculous birth will be remembered and taught about throughout the future.
             Historians are unsure about the birth of Aphrodite. It is thought by some that Aphrodite sprung from Uranus. Another story is that she was created when Kronus castrated his father, and threw his testicles into the sea. A white foam appeared, and it is said that Aphrodite came from the foam. Her Matron City or home was Cyprus. Aphrodite's powers and roles were varied and complex. Aphrodite was worshiped as a universal goddess called Urania, and a goddess of civic life, called Pandemos. Aphrodite's parents were Dione and Zeus, and she was married to the blacksmith of the gods, Hephaestus, but she had many other lovers. Many other gods wanted her as their own. One of these was Zeus. She did not want Zeus or any other husband. Zeus was angered and forced Aphrodite to marry Hephaetus as a punishment.
             Although Aphrodite did not fight in the war between the Titans and Olympians, she held a part in the Trojan War. Aphrodite had a great love for Alexandros, and her love for him escalated
             the war. She protected Alexandros from harm, and Zeus told her to have no part in the war. She caused many deaths in the war. Zeus also told Aphrodite to stay in the areas of love, and charm.
