Chapter II talks of why we should philosophize. It says that there are several different interpretations of this question. One example is it may express a desire for the reader to want to know the goal philosophers pursue in their investigations. Another maybe from the gain that somebody who is already deeply involved in Philosophy the question its self may be important. For me it is the desire to know what practical gain philosophy as to offer.
I n the beginning of the class we were to ask our self what is Philosophy and what does it mean to us. I just wrote the definition in the book. As the class continued I began to look more into it. I was challenged to think. It was like I was asking to seek answers. I was ask how do we know what is reality? That is a hard one I can't really tell you what is reality but before this class I assumed that we are in reality. How do we know we could be living a life like the matrix?
So, I finally realize the importance of philosophy and to philosophize, at least for me. I am a person who has struggled with thinking for myself. Now I want to ask questions and think for myself seek answer and find out what I believe. I am on a journey right now for myself as far as seeking God. I have been apart of a church and without question would believe every single word that was said to me. I never search the answers not even the bible. I am now taking a step back challenging myself and others to think more to seek answers for yourself. I am very grateful for this eye opener. I am ashamed of what I was like however I am changed.
