Coordinated Dress

             Having coordinated dress at the senior high level is not as big of a deal as is made out to be. In fact, coordinated dress could convert a high school into a better, more unified and accepting, safer place. However, it may also be not so good a thing, and the only way to find out is to attempt it, try it out for a year or two, and if it does not work go back to the old ways.
             Students would feel safer at school if everybody was wearing the same, or a similar, outfit. An outsider would be noticed right away, because they would not be wearing the same thing. Also, it would make things simpler, for both the students and the staff. The teachers would not need to worry about dress code violations because the students would be already wearing the appropriate apparel. For students, things would be easier because they would not have to worry about what to wear in the morning, or what clothes are in style now. Students would have more self-respect because they would look much nicer and more orderly. It would be much fairer because there would be no separation of the rich and the poor by appearance, all would look alike.
             It could possibly bring about better unification among students. There would not be near as much separation among the different social classes. Those that are not as wealthy as the others would still be able to mingle with the wealthier crowd. There would be no more judgment based upon first looks and there would be more friendships because of this. The stress level would also drop among the student body. More friends means more fun and hence less stress. Also, students would look much more organized and professional to the outside world. Some potential future students may see this change as the school attempting to better itself and thus realizing that the school is not a bad place to attend and get a good education in both a spiritual sense and a worldly sense.
