here are several local professional tours around the country that are typically made of several one or two day events throughout the week. A living can't be made on this type of tour. The amount of money earned is based on how many players were in the field. There aren't any tournament sponsors that pump money into the event, due to the fact that it is practically invisible to the rest of the golf world. These tours can be beneficial in several ways though. When most of the tours around the world are in their off season from November to January, these small tours can be great for players to stay sharp. Competition can be very tough in the winters due to the fact that many professionals are taking the same approach. In the winter, your earnings for coming in the top 5 can range from $150 to $500. During the summer though, a player might lose money, just because there were only a few players in the tournament and not enough money was raised to pay off their entry fees (a percentage of money from entry fees goes to the golf course as-well-as the person/people that run the tour). One shouldn't aspire to play at this level of golf if they want to make enough money to live on.
