ays and nights, after which, Noah built an altar to the Lord and offered him ritually clean animals as burnt offerings. These offerings touched God's heart regarding man's sinful nature and God promised that he would never again destroy the earth by flood for man. The death of the animals as burnt offerings prevented future judgments, we are shown this in Genesis 8:20
             "And Noah built an altar unto the Lord; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.
