I have done a paper, concerning the topic "Is consensual sex with a minor considered statutory rape if the person charged with rape is within the ages of 18-21?" This paper includes an overview of a conducted survey of a variety of opinionated people. These people give their opinion on whether or not they consider consensual sex statutory rape if the person charged with rape is within the ages of 18-21. Statistically, in the 1990's statutory rape was amongst the highest sex crime in the United States. People considered that if it is consensual sex, it shouldn't be statutory rape if the person charged with rape is within the ages of 18-21.
             The Research method that I have selected is a ten question survey. I conducted the survey to a variety of people of different genders, ages, ethnicity, religion, etc. Most of the people I handed the survey to were students attending Chaffey Community College. When passing out this survey, race and gender were an issue because I wanted to make sure that my research would be based on a variety. Religion however, was an unknown when handing out this survey, the only question I asked to the participants was if they could please complete this survey. I tried not to make any more verbal communication that would change their perspective of this topic. I did not ask for any names, for their identity would remain confidential. The process of collecting this data was not nearly as difficult as putting into words.
             Statistically, 76 % of the people I surveyed believed that if the person charged with rape (who was between the age of 18-21) of having sex with a minor, it is still considered statutory rape, even if it is consensual. 24% of the people believed that it shouldn't be illegal.
