Track –N- Field vs. Cheerleading: The Real Deal

             In high school, I experienced the most competitive years of my life. When I was going through these transitions I realized my love for sports which were track and field and Cheerleading. Even though I wasn't ready for Cheerleading, track and field was my life and that was all I knew from middle school. Both sports really have given me advantages and disadvantages that helped me day to day to guide me through high school.
             In my ninth grade year, I was really excited about track because I was really good at the sport and I loved the thrill and excitement it brought when you were at track meets. I remember the coach talking to me in eighth grade and already having plans for me on her track team. Coach Ayers would always say, "Fisher, come on out and give it a try." I would simply agree to her by nodding my head. As I went out for the track season, I noticed how hard everything was becoming. I thought, "Track wasn't like this in eighth grade!" I kept to it and I started out on Varsity my freshman year. I was so thrilled that I was a freshman on a Varsity sport level. As I developed my feelings and thoughts for track, it all started to slip away.
             As I sat in World Geography, Ms. Powell, my teacher began to talk about Cheerleading squad at Willowridge High School. I wasn't too much into it because I was running track. Ms. Powell insisted that I try out for Cheerleading that year. I still hear her saying, "Come on lil' raggedy and try out for Cheerleading, it'll be fun!" I really didn't know what to do about the situation, so I helplessly said, "Okay Ms. Powell I'll try out."
             Everyday Ms. Powell would ask me, "Are you still going to try-out lil' raggedy?" She was so excited about one of her first ninth grade students trying out for Cheerleading.
