Global Warming

1.) MOUNTAINS -- With global warming, there could be a dramatic change in the mountains. The mountains cover close to 20% of the earths surfaces and provide many homes. Global warming would hurt the mountains and us extremely bad because we would lose essential resources such as timber, minerals, recreational escapes, and a significant portion of the freshwater. More changes would consist of a climate change that would affect mountain and lowland ecosystems, more and intense forest fires, along with distribution of water, and a diversity of wildlife. There would also be lower-elevation habitats especially dealing with trees and forestry. This would also eliminate higher elevation vegetation and animals. Another thing would be snow and glaciers melting which would cause water to run down the side of the mountain and fill freshwater eco systems. The high water levels and warmer temperature of the water would attract more insects and the food water-chain. Global warming would negatively affect our mountains and everything related dramatically.
2.) DESERTS -- Deserts in the world will also be affected by global warming. Deserts tend to be located between 20 and 32 latitude. If global temperatures were to raise 4 degrees it could cause many problems. Potential evapotranspiration is expected to increase 30-40 percent. Precipitation would only increase 10-15 percent. As a result, the area lacking precipitation would expand pole-ward and toward the equator. Scientists aren't sure how deserts will really be affected by global warming. Deserts could expand and increase by 185 or decrease by 56. Global warming would greatly affect desert lands, scientists just are not sure how or where.
3.) HEALTH -- The increase of temperature would cause many of the health problems. Heart problems, heat exhaustion, and respiratory problems all can result because of the heat. H
