Underneath the blue baseball hat embroidered with a awhite logo lies the mystery of a boy in the midst of becoming a man. Thin blan spikes surface his oval shaped head forming what is left of his shaved head. His dark brown eyebrows form almost perfectly over his slightly slanted eyes, as though he plucks certain areas to keep the shape.n His chocolate brown eyes as though he plucks certain areas to keep the shape. Ryan, a pale half cacusian half Philipiano nineteen year old walks through the door and straight to the refridgeator. He is my best friend but I have realized that he has a problem.
             His long and skinny but defined arms pull the refridgeator door open and his hand reached for a budweiser. Finall, a beer. A slight smile curves up on his face as he shuts the door. He pops open the cap and takes a long gulp. His satisfaction is clear to everyone in the room. Beer still in his hsand he does not set it doen but holds in almost a potective manner. He continues to sip on the bottle as his eyes slowly tune into the picture on the television screen. Within ten minutess he finishes his first beer and he heads back to the kitchen for another. Before i knew his twelve pack was gone and he wants more.
             What a change from the loud, sweet, and very playful boy i watch at work. Ryan works at a daycare with little children and is good at what at he does. Those tiny people stick to him to work three to four times and it jsut amazes me. Their eyes light up and glow while they play tag outside with him during their break. For the time being, he has definately found fun and an entertaining job. Without even asking I know he loves these kids by the way he is gentle and fun. Once all the children have been picked up and his smile drops a weary looks coonsumes his face. I waatch the change happen so quickly as his tired self walks to the car along my side lighting up a cigarette on the way.
