It is apparent that teenagers, now more than ever, are determined to "fit in" and seek approval from others. In past decades, the "in" look would include appearing somewhat plump and healthy. Today, supermodels seem to show off their slim bodies by parading around in next-to-nothing clothing, indicating that the "in" look in the modern society includes being a size one.
