Green Split over project

The green party is split in decision on what to do about the Laguna land and the project to build housing that is affordable. The major objective here is to preserve the Laguna area. The issue here is that Sebastopol needs to build more housing that is affordable and the only way Spooner sees that happening is to do it over the Laguna area. Spooner's defense here is that he wants to see housing range from 175,000 to 212,000, that they need the land. The other part of his thinking is that they wouldn't be taking that much of the land only a tiny portion.
Well this is what Evens didn't think that it was such a great idea and this is what he had to say about it. That this is prime habitat that they cannot replace. There is no other land like this in the whole county. Here is a quote from the article: " mountain lions are sighted right below here. We have large populations of rare and endangered animals such as the short eared owl, river otters and badgers. The Laguna area is truly irreplaceable." the goal for the committee of the Laguna project is to get 10,000 acres and right now they have about 3,000. The conservationists know that it is important that people in Sebastopol have housing that is affordable but that they cannot have it at the expense of giving up the Laguna area to it. We will just have to wait to see what happens....
