As I went around the room to greet and ask my fellow students in the class for their list of skill or behavior that will promote academic success. I was expecting behaviors like: hardworking, paying attention in class, and do all your homework... Then I saw one item that surprises me a little. One of the students said that "sleeping" is essential to your academic success.

After all, you are not studying anything when you're sleeping. From my personal experience sleeping has always been seen as a lazy behavior. For example, whenever my friends telephoned me to go out on the weekends and I told them that I was still sleeping. They would always tell me something like: "Wakeup! When thinking about it thoroughly, sleeping is a very important factor for students to do well in school. The question to ask here is: "Do you have enough sleep?". Sleeping is something that our body needs. Take a machine for example. By turning it off, we allow the engine to cool down. So that it wouldn't overheat. If the machine continues to run non-stop without rest, most certainly that the thing would break much sooner when compared to the one that has rest. Like machines, we need rest too. By sleeping we allow ourselves to regenerate and be more alert in class. If we don't have enough sleep, we would be very
