I believe that the central theme is one that focuses on the hardships of Jennet Humfrye. Her inability to forgive, to move on; her endless recycling of the accident, her grief, her anger, her desire for vengeance keeps her locked into the hell that she is and creates for herself and others. The moral point is simple, it is that we have to forgive and let go of the past. Experience and hardships bring us everything Jennet is experiencing, however we must forgive and learn from our past in order to be fecund.
