Chaput, the Roman Catholic archbishop of Denver, Colorado, "terminally ill persons seeking doctor-assisted suicide usually struggle with depression, guilt, anger, and a loss of meaning" (230). These people need to be cared for not just physically, but mentally. They must be constantly reminded that their suffering does not go without purpose, instead of helping them towards the easy way out (Chaput 230).
