There are three generations in my family, my grandparents, my parents, and myself.
             My grandparents have six children, three girls and three boys. None of my aunts and uncles died at childhood or adolescence. All of them are well and living. My grandparent was married before they had children. All of the children were born in wedlock. All of my aunts and uncles children are alive. Two of my aunts have children that are born out of wedlock. My uncle has a few children that are also born out of wedlock. My parents have one child, that is me. My parent had me out of wedlock.
             In my grandparent's generation, you had to get married if you were pregnant. If you did not both families was disgrace, especially the female family. When this did occur and the both parents would meet to discuss what was the next step. If the female family didn't want the girl to marry they would send her away to relative house to give birth. Often time the child was put up for adoption and the girl would return to her family. In other cases, the couple would get married.
             In my parents and my generation is so much different from my grandparents' generation. People are more accepting to the idea of having children out of wedlock. It is so common in the society that we live in today. In my family, my grandmother had six children which was considered a lot of children. They all survive; the reason why my grandmother had so many children wasn't because of extra hands to work the farm. My grandmother and grandfather were intimate and at the time there was no fear form of birth control. The babies keep coming until my grandmother was eligible for an operation that would tie her fallopian tubes to stop her from having babies.
             My parents only had one child. They had me out of wedlock, which was viewed as a bad thing, because of the times. My parents are from the 60's and 70's generation which is hipper and more open to live life to the fullest ...
