Dear Arthur Anderson. I would like to thank your very much on selecting me to predict for you what our economy will be like over the next year. I think that you are going to be very happy with this report, and can therefore use this as a future reference in the near coming.
We as a country are going through a very tough period of time. With all that has been happening with the war, many things have been changing. People are holding on to their money and not going out and spending it on goods and services. This is shown because in the past quarter (3rd) the GDP has decreased, and less goods have been bought. Specifically, there was a 1.1% decrease. This is what is called a contraction in the economy. Which eventually becomes later known as a recession, and maybe even over a long period of time called a depression.
This is an example of a graph that shows the annual rates of the Real GDP. Notice that there are many ups and downs (peaks, troughs). But also that one of the lowest troughs over the past 30 years is right about were when the Terrorist Attacks took place. It also has yet to begin to rise.
This graph clearly shows that we are in a contraction and that means it is a sort of recession. This is a type of Coincident indicator. The graph is running at the same rate, and giving us information as the economy works.
My prediction on inflation is that for the most part it will stay the same. There is a slight chance that it may fall a little bit, yet it should stay quite stable. I think that the type of inflation that this is going to be is a "Creeping" inflation. It will increase or decrease by small amounts. Inflation for the past months decreased .3%.
Unemployment is expected to increase at a steady rate for the year to come. I see this happening because of what the past years and months have looked like and especially because of the interest rates. They have been very poo
