Comparing X-Men to The Chrysalids

The movie X-Men will be compared and contrasted to the novel The Chrysalids. The characters, themes, and settings have many similarities and very few differences. Both the movie and the novel have similar meanings behind them.
Firstly, the characters in X-Men are very similar to those in The Chrysalids; they have very few if any differences. Joseph Strorm from The Chrysalids and the Senator from X-Men both do not accept mutants and wish that they were all banished. It is shown that Joseph is very serious about this when he gets mad at his own son for not speaking up about Sophie and her extra toe. Both the people in Waknuk and New York do not accept mutants because they do not know them and will not give them a chance. They think, just because they are different, they do not deserve a chance in life and should live miserable lives. Another theme is stand up for what you believe in.
