             convention because of sex, that the two women became allies in the war against discrimination.
             The first known record of female discrimination in the United States occurred in
             Massachusetts in sixteen-seventy, when a woman by the name of Betsy Nolands was not allowed
             to speak in town meetings because of gender. (Randel 13.) And now, almost one hundred and
             eighty years later, the movement of women's rights began in full force. Numerous women's
             organizations arose such as NAWSA (National American Women's Suffrage Association)
             headed up by none other then Elizabeth Cady Stanton. During this time, small dents were made
             in society by these women wanting freedom and rights, yet nothing compared to the actions that
             were going to take place in Seneca Falls, New York in eighteen-forty-eight. The Seneca Falls
