A new policy would give each adult the ability to spend more time with their children or the community children, which is what we feel the children of today lack.
We have evaluated how this program will impact employee production. Regardless of how much any company may want a policy like this, it needs to be evaluated from all aspects of the business. Is it possible for our company to allow our employees occasional time off and still provide the service to our customers that we specialize in?
If this policy is implemented in our organization, will the policy take away from or add to each employee's production? Also, we needed to evaluate how this policy will affect the other employee's workload when someone leaves.
In a survey released on February 8, 2002, from the Bureau of labor Statistics, a large retail corporation who started this program in their own company stated that, over 85% of their employees used the educational release program. Since the corporation was primarily a retail company they would loose program. Because the corporation was primarily a retail company, and would loose money if the sales force were not working, they were worried about their productivity. However, they found that this actually increased the sales force productivity by 5%. The end results were that the employees were happier and were able to focus on getting their jobs done quicker if they needed to leave for a program at school, and in all actuality, their productivity increased
