My Pledge to America

             What comes to mind when we think of America? Is it the statue of liberty, the bald eagle, or September the eleventh? Some of these items or events have shaped our country to be the great nation it is today. When I think of America I think of the great wars and many hardships that our nation has gone through. For example, the great revolutionary war, witch we won, so we could be free from England. Also the war that almost broke our country into two separate nations, the great civil war. I think this war was the one war that could have affected us so greatly. When you think of this, think of Gettysburg PA because if the union army had not stopped this war from going on any further, then maybe the confederate army would have lived to form a better army and win this war.
             Of course, the bald eagle, the one thing that symbolizes our country the most. It symbolizes freedom, witch we are. It stands for courage, the courageous solders we have fighting in the war on terrorism. And last, this bird stands for the hunter, witch we will hunt down osama bin laden and try to put a stop to the horrifying affects that terrorism has brought to the world.
             Sadly our nation faced the most horrific thing any country could have ever imagined. September the eleventh. I will never forget the day I was sitting in English, they called me down to the office and my dad picked me up from school and told me the terrible things that affected our country. My mom's cousin had lost his life in that building that day. He had just gotten married three months earlier, and his wife was pregnant with their first child. They could never find his body, so we never had a real funeral for him. I believe that the world should be free so no one hates you for being different, and kills over three-thousand people and three-hundred fire fighters.
