d his administration had little tolerance for homosexuals. Representative of the widening gap between the rich and the poor of the country is apparent when examining the two ends of the spectrum. While Regan's laissez-faire policies were assisting the rich with an economic boom and an increased income by 11.1 percent for the wealthiest five percent of the population. Though Regan believed that everyone would benefit from the boom, women and children became the fastest growing population of homeless, the numbers of the poor or poverty stricken rose and welfare policies were cut to a minimum. Why didn't those that were struggling because of the administration say anything? The answer is this: these were the people that did not have a voice, unlike the rich who where closer to the government's pockets.
