Happiness

Happiness sometimes finds you when you least expect it. It is often said that whenyou are looking for something, it will be harder to find. A similar saying would be "At watched pot never boils". When you finally accept the cards as they were dealt, someone shuffles the deck! But change can bring extreme happiness.
For 38 years, Julie was convinced that she would spend the rest of her life alone. She had boyfriends, but none that she felt would be a permanent fixture in her life. After much time and thought, she accepted this. She had a good job, a good family, good friends, and a good home. Perhaps this was enough. Then she was introduced to my father, Carl.
Julie was scared. After convincing herself that she had all she needed to be happy, here was a man who might have "future" written on him. She feared rejection, and worried about falling in love. If this was "the one", her life would be forever changed.
She decided to take the chance. Carl and Julie dated for seven months, and on Christmas Day 2000, he proposed to her. They were married on September 1, 2001. Carl laughingly calls their anniversary 9-1-1. In an emergency, he would just dial his anniversary date! His humor tickles her, and her life has definitely changed for the better, thanks to him.
When you go looking for happiness, you may have difficulty finding it. When you stop looking for it, sometimes happiness finds you! Carl and Julie have been happily married for fourteen months. The m
oral of Julie's story is "find contentment in your life and the happiness just might follow!"
