The concepts of beauty, relaxation and perfection in nature have yet to die. We see the results of inspiration through works of art, music, poetry, and philosophy. Through time, the passion of nature has grown with diversity between all ages, nationalities, and gender. In 1844, a philosopher named Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote and expressed his views on nature. Emerson wrote about its tranquility. India Arie, a contemporary musician also shares the same idea through a song ironically titled "Nature". Arie sings about the beauty and simplicity of the things around us. In her song she emphasizes the pleasures of "God's creations". The thought of nature in the world has been ongoing. The concepts have yet to cease and even today they inspire society.
Emerson chose to express his idea through writing. Since he was a writer and public speaker, writing would be the most appropriate medium. His writing style was strong and he did a good job of getting his point across. Emerson compares human life to the essence of the environment. He writes that the changes in season are like "... every hour of change and it corresponds to different states of mind." Emerson greatly expresses his views through many statements but this stuck out to me the most, "There are days which occur in this climate, at almost any season of the year, wherein the world reaches its perfection, when the air, the heavenly bodies, and the earth, make a harmony, as if nature would indulge her offspring; when, in these bleak upper sides of the planet, nothing is to desire that we have heard of the happiest latitudes, and we bask in the shining hours... when everything that has life gives sign of satisfaction, and the cattle that lie on the ground seem to have great and tranquil thoughts."
