Beowulf came into a kingdom in peril and defeated three monsters, which by no one else could be stopped. The three monsters were, Grendel, Grendel's mother, and a dragon, and neither of these monsters could be stopped. Even though it was evident that he would probably die and with the dragon he did, Beowulf never even tried to back down from a challenge. Seafarer really did not have anyone in peril to save, for he was swept off to sea. He felt sorrow, fear, and pain, but he never went or stayed at home. When it came to their occupation in getting into danger, Beowulf was a warrior and Seafarer was more of a seaman. Beowulf was involved in three major battles, but Seafarer only went out to sea and was faced with dangers there. When it came to facing danger, Beowulf went into battle because he wanted all the glory. Seafarer went into the face of danger in a humble and understanding manner, not really caring about the glory.
