"Many young workers face health and safety hazards on the job". These happen while the person is carrying out the duties of his or her job. Many teenagers suffer from work related issues and there are many ways around it. Its evident that many adolescents suffered injuries and there are many ways these injuries can be reduced. Work Place injuries by the National Academy Press and Work injuries and illnesses involving days away from work for children under age eighteen support this idea.
             There are many work related injuries for teenagers. "The National Center for Health Statistics reports an occupational injury rate for 15- to 17-year-olds of 4.9 per 100 full-time-equivalent workers in 1996". It shows that 4.9 percent in every 100 full time workers in 1996. "Older teens may be more likely to perceive themselves as mature and therefore attempt tasks for which they are unprepared. It means that older teens think they are mature enough to do tasks they are not prepared for or trained for. Though there many injuries for teenagers there are also ways to reduce these injuries.
             There are many ways to reduce these injuries. " One Survey found that 80 percent of work-related injuries suffered by adolescents occurred when no supervisor was present". To reduce this injuries more supervisors should appointed to that specific job or more safety precautions should be taught to the employee. " Another issue that is just beginning to be recognized is the assignment of youths to jobs other than the ones they were hired to perform". They should reduce this problem by hiring and training more employees. "Many of the industries that employ large numbers of children and adolescents have high-than-average injury rates for workers of all ages".
