In the beginning when God created the earth and made the first humans, god commanded Adam and Eve not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (Genesis 2:16-18). This was the first rule established on earth, in the universe, ever, by God. Adam and Eve were disobedient to this command, they committed a sin, they were wrong.
             In option (b) the commands of God would be meaningless and the goodness of God would be untrue. This is also false. Once again God is the establisher of right and wrong. What He commands is right. Of course God could command us to do anything and on that basis it would be the right thing to do, simply because He commands it. For example, God could have commanded us to lie; therefore lying would be the right thing to do. Yet this is the very thing that God is incapable of doing. God is the Truth (John 14: 6). How can truth lie? God is not a man, that He should lie. If God said He will do something He will do it just as His Word says (Numbers 23:19). God is incapable of going against His Word. The bible says that God is good (Psalm 34:8). Webster dictionary defines good as right, honorable, kind, true. The bible also states the same of God. God was here before the dictionary and even before language. We know good because God is good.
             One thing that I will admit is wrong with the Devine Command Theory is the fact that not every one believes in God, Jesus, therefore one cannot receive the bible as the Word of God. If one does not believe that all of God's Word is true one cannot reap all the benefits of God's Word and all that God has to give. This theory can work for the believer only.
