This is a letter written by the apostle Paul to Titus, one of his followers who helped him in many ways. In the chapter Titus, Paul begins by explaining why he left him in Crete and explaining it was to finish the job Paul had started. He entrusted Titus to find elders to lead the towns to do God's will. Paul, also instructs Titus to teach the doctrine to older men so they will pass it on to their families and towns people and to be good examples to others. He also instructs Titus to teach the slaves to obey their masters and in doing this they would be doing God's will. He specifically lists the things Titus should preach, such as; say no to ungodly things, live a godly life, and to live with self control. He says by doing this, the people will be pleasing to God.
             Paul wants the people to be reminded by Titus to be good and obedient, to be considerate, and show true humility to everyone. Paul speaks of how the people in the past did not do these things and God saved them in order that they would follow His will. Paul stresses what God had done for the people and Titus must pass these things on so everyone will live well and profit from God's love. Paul allows for controversies, even though he warns against them, however only two changes are permitted until he who sinned would be shunned.
             Paul ends this letter by telling Titus that he will be sending Artemus and Tychicus to help him and asks Titus to come to him so they can again be together. He instructs Titus to assist in any way and again stresses the importance of the people doing good. As in many letters, Paul ends his letter by sending his love to Titus from others and himself.
