The pigman

My oral presentation is on "The Pigman" by Paul Zindel. There are three main characters in this book: John and Lorraine, who are good friends and Mr. Pignati. John and Lorraine take turns writing each chapter, starting with John.
John begins by introducing himself and the actual story. He describes it as being a "memorial epic" to the man who they knew as the Pigman. John seems to be somewhat of a troublemaker. Lorraine later describes him as being quite good-looking and tall with brown hair and blue eyes. He wants to eventually become an actor. He has a very vivid imagination and much confidence.

John and Lorraine decides to hang out with Pigman whenever they can, because they think he's lonely. As they spend time with him, they learn he has a deep dark secret and they had to find out what it is. Later Pigman had a heart attack and John and Lorraine helped him. While he's in the hospital they have a rave at the Pigman's house. During the party all the pig statues get busted. When the Pigman comes home and finds out his collection was trashed, he banishes John and Lorraine from his house. Soon after, Pigman dies, and his death has a profound effect on John and Lorraine.
Many themes appear throughout the story, for example, older people and friendships with them. A quote from the s...
