             The Great Gatsby does not cover every kind of ideology of the 1920s but wholly spans the urban, modern society. This includes the elite rich such as Daisy and Tom, the new rich who earned money illegally such as Gatsby, the middle class such as Nick, and the poor working class, the Wilsons. The book is called The Great Gatsby because it mainly tells the story of Jay Gatsby, a self made man who lived by the dream of winning the love of Daisy Buchanan, but knew that to win her love he must also become part of the elite rich and did so through illegal and immoral ways representative of many modernistic values.
             The Great Gatsby focuses mainly on Jay Gatsby and the events following his meeting with his lifelong dream, Daisy Buchanan. Nick, the observer, tells the story of meeting his neighbor Jay Gatsby, the resident of an elaborate estate in Long Island. Nick learns of Gatsby's obsession with Daisy and through him they meet.
