the children count the number of bubbles they have made the one with the most number of bubbles made shall be the winner. Allow this exercise to go for five minutes and then shift to the other exercise proposed.
Licking peanut butter or marshmallow crème
This exercise works on tongue elevation/lifting and if you put it over in one cheek for example, it works to help lateralize the tongue/move it to the side.
Bring peanut butter or marshmallow crème to class and ask each child what he likes more. Then ask them to start licking peanut butter or marshmallow crème with the tongue only (no fingers) after a glob of it has been placed on the roof of the mouth or behind the top front teeth. Ask the children to put their hands behind their backs and not to use their fingers to unstuck the glob from the top of the mouth or the side of it, rather, let them use their tongues. Tell the children not to swallow the whole glob but rather let it melt in their mouth and whoever melts the most number of globs in five minutes wins.
Rub peanut butter or marshmallow crème on outside of lips (red/pink part) so child must lick lips with tongue to clean them off. No hands for this either.
