In the past two weeks our morality class has heard the view points from two presentations ranging from Pre-Marital Intercourse to Artificial Contraception. These two presentations have brought about a lot of information and view points and opinions. These two topics tie into each other too. If you are for PMI (Pre-Marital Intercourse) then I hope you would you use a type of AI (Artificial Intercourse). If you are against PMI, then you are also against AI supposedly. There are a lot of different stances that you can take and a lot of variations you can take but you have to take one.
The last presentation we heard was AI. It told us about the many ways that science had prevailed in preventing the natural birth of babies. There were barrier, hormonal, and chemical methods all of which had their repercussions. Chemical and hormonal methods had severe side effects for women including cysts, migraines, and strokes. The most common side effects that were listed were irritability, increased propensity to depression, weight gain, and reduced sex desire.
Also AI gave people the feeling and desire to have "social" sex and to just take sex as a urge that needs to be quenched and fulfilled. Those people aren't totally free from trouble just because they use AI. They still have a 3% chance of getting pregnant even if they use condoms. They can also still get viruses that can still be transmitted even through condom use.
I am against pre-marital intercourse because it affects not only your own life or the person you are involved with but the babies life. Teen sex hurts the baby too because that baby has to grow up with a different set of rules then other babies. Most babies from teen pregnancy do not get the same kind of medical or mental treatment that other kids would get because the teen parents were not prepared for a child and thus cannot support it adequately.
