             While human nature creates a hurdle for Mckibben's view, the next point that he makes is something that every one can become involved in. The conservation of our natural recourses is one of Mckibben's biggest arguments. He says, "We've consumed till our consumption threatens the atmosphere and, hence, all creation. We've consumed till it seems highly unlikely more consumption will fill the various holes in our lives." (210) Relating his view to the environmental issues in the past decade, Mckibben hopes to show the reader how the public as a whole treats the planet. He also illustrates the correlation between the void in our lives and the need to fill it with things that wont work. Again, human nature plays a large part in conservation of our natural recourses.
