it wouldn't look so uncivilized because we have government, laws, and houses that is built properly. But they are Africans and they don't have laws that is written in the book. That is why it looks so uncivilized and brutal. These things constantly appear throughout the book. If Unoka was lazy one, his son Okonkwo was very opposite. Okonkwo was a responsible person. He had 3 wives, whom never got into a fight like in other culture because they were too afraid of self centered and important husband Okonkwo. Okonkwo was very influential among his people. He worked hard to earn the title and what he had. His father's dishonorable life and his death made him strong because it was unbearable pain to him. Whenever people talked about man without title, he felt ashamed and hurt. Okonkwo hated man without title. He called them woman and sneered at them. He defied them.
