The newspaper article on Marketing Hypocrisy and Breast Cancer by Peggy Orenstein was published on the Wednesday of October 9th of 2002. She refers to the problems of breast cancer organizations and the environmental problems that cause breast cancer. I quote "But how many of them will ask how their money is spent on how corporate donors may themselves "drive" the breast cancer agenda?" She says, "It's the perfect profit circle." To her, early detection of cancer is the best protection. Over two thousand opinion research international polis, more than two thirds of women say they have purchased a product linked to the fight for breast cancer. Companies should be spending more time and money on the environmental links to disease like pesticides, solvents, and fuels that maybe in the environment effecting tissues that maybe expressed to the environment. The people who are actual breast cancer survivors and also many of the helpers of breast cancer are in favor. Many of the corporate sponsors who are doing business with the awareness programs and who actually believe that they can get away with their scams are not in favor. They manufacture pesticides that contain known carcinogens harmful to the human body, they affect not just women.
             The facts are most of these companies that protect and try to prevent breast cancer aren't really doing their jobs. It makes me very angry that these companies are taking advantage of these people and using them to gain a profit. Although I was never or have ever taken part in a breast cancer situation, I am very understanding of what the writer had to say. I felt deeply on how she was able to fight breast cancer and make it out in one piece. I will never know the true feeling of what it's like to have breast cancer and how much pain it is to go through what these women went through. I do have just a slight idea about what
