Fast Car Lab Report

Have you ever wondered how fast a small battery powered car (that vaguely resembles a tank) will go? Recently an experiment was conducted just to see how fast it would go. The goal was to determine if the car is accelerating or if it is moving at a constant speed. Using a select number of items, a conclusion was formed, but to make it a little more interesting you should try it yourself to see how your results turn out.
First things first, you have to have the materials to perform these tasks. One: you need some masking tape, this will be used to measure out the four-meter track. To get a four-meter track you would need a meter stick to determine how far four meters really is. Second: you would need the fast and furious battery powered car. A stopwatch will also be necessary to time the car as it approaches the meter marks at its mind-boggling speeds. It also helps to have a pencil, paper, and a calculator at hand as well.
To perform this experiment you should find a few friends to share your amazement with. One of your cronies should get the car and prep it for the newest land speed record. Another person should stand at the one-meter mark with the stopwatch, to time the car's arrival at the one-meter mark. Once this is done you need to write down the time it took to get there. Do the same with each other mark, starting at the start line. Once you have done this you have your data and are ready to find out this speed demon's speed.
To find the land rocket's speed is quite simple really. All you have to do is use the formula V=d/t or velocity = distance time. For this experiment the velocity is unknown, so you will have to use the time it took for the car to reach the marks. Our team of experts broke the sound barrier with an eight-second time on the first mark. Again using the formula your distance is one meter, and your time is eight seconds. You divide distance by time and your answer would be..
