Consequences

             Thesis: More often then not there are consequences for a person's actions.
             A. Abelard plotted to win Heloise's love
             B. They fell in love and made love numerous times

             F. Lives spent in misery (rest of their lives were spent separated from each other and miserable)

             - Heloise lived piously in a convent, yet knew that her heart was not right with God
             - When denied companionship from Abelard she knew know peace
             - both of her letters spoke of her misery at not being with or not hearing from Abelard
             - With God she could have finally had peace even if her life wasn't perfect
             More often than not there are consequences for a person's actions. They may be good, as in the case of a man who helped the poor and was rewarded for his good deeds. Many times they are not so good and can even affect a person's entire life. A drunk driver may get in an accident and kill someone. As a result he is convicted of manslaughter and sent to prison. His life will never be the same - all because of one stupid decision. Abelard and Heloise also made a bad decision and they paid dearly for it the rest of their lives.
             The story of Abelard and Heloise is that of ill-fated love. From the beginning it was doomed to fail because it was not started honorably. Abelard plotted to win Heloise's love knowing that he could not marry her. He deceived her uncle by telling him he just needed a place to stay in exchange for his services when that was never his intention. He succeeded in his plan and Heloise and he fell in love. Their relationship progressed uninhibited and they made love many times. Before too long the ruse was up. Heloise ended up getting pregnant and her uncle found out.
