Honda is one manufacturer that seems to be doing predominately well in the market, even though its home country, Japan, is in economic recession. There are various reasons why Japan has continued to thrive and do well in the marketplace. One tactic that they use is to be economically efficient, which helps their products to be low cost. Another positive feature about Honda is that they have various models for different wants and needs of individuals. Honda is also known for being well known for other products other than vehicles; they also produce motorcycles, engines, generators, lawn and garden products, personal watercrafts, pumps, scooters and snowblowers.              Soichiro Honda is known as the founder of Honda Corporation that flourished and went beyond just the national borders of Japan and into various countries throughout the world. Soichiro Honda was born in 1906 in Hamamatsu, which is located in the Shizuoka Prefecture of Japan. His father was known to own a blacksmith, wherein he also found time to repair bicycles as part of a hobby. Soichiro Honda also found an interest in repairing and became an apprentice for an automobile repair shop located in Tokyo; however, there were not that many automobiles in that area at that time. After an earthquake in 1923, there was a rise in mass transit, which made Soichiro Honda engage in pursuing his dream of making motorcycles and hand-built racing cars.
             During the 1930s, Soichiro Honda saved up enough funds and started his own business of producing engine parts.
