It was obvious to me that this video series was prepared to not only pull together the history of Christianity's beginnings from Jesus' birth to when it became the official religion of the Roman Empire but to do so sensitively. Leading scholars discuss this background with good use of the visual so that the viewer is captivated. Some viewers may feel this series challenges a literal interpretation of the New Testament while others
may feel it presents a compelling story utilizing new discoveries and insights into a life that so affected the world to this day.
When it comes down to if the scholars have an agenda, yes of course I think these scholars have an agenda. From listening to the arguments of the scholars, I believe there agenda is to get historical facts. When it comes to it there are not many sources in hand that details the life of Jesus. Like Prof. MICHAEL WHITE said "that we don't have sources that come from the actual time of Jesus himself." I believe that having an agenda is a good thing because bringing controversy to something everyone has an opionion on makes for good debate. Many people are scared to look into the writings of the bible because they are scared to find out what they believe in might not be as true to form as they thought.
I enjoyed hearing the arguments and the explanation of what many Prof. and Scholars thought of what really happened in the life of Jesus. The details the scholars go through are amazing, I have never heard an argument on how there is a debate on if Jesus was really a carpenter. I enjoyed this video a whole lot and I order the all 4 tapes because I would like to hear the rest of there arguments. Details that I have never heard argued is what caught my attention.
