A test is a measurement of skill, knowledge, intelligence, or aptitude of a person. Tests are used when applying for a job, getting into High School, or even just for fun. At McDonald's you have to take a test then write an essay saying why you think you should get the job. When you take a test for high school, the test is to see whether to put you in stupid classes, or honors classes. Everyone has taken a test at least once in his or her life.
I support the idea of testing. People study for tests, exams, finals, and SATs. When these are excluded there is nothing to study for. Most people hate tests so they either do not study or cheat. First off, I think that if tests were banned, people would not have any idea about what to do in their job, or in school, or even in special situations like driving. Secondly, People would not be serious or be willing to learn. My third reason is that kids would not have good teachers because the teachers would not have had a reason to study.
Tests help the employer by knowing whether their employee understands what they are to do. Tests also help the employer to make good decisions. They help the employee to memorize important information and understand their job. In school, tests help students to memorize facts and learn the material. Driving tests help people to learn to control a car and memorize all the laws.
Being serious is a big part of learning. When someone is not serious, then they do not care. Tests put pressure on kids to study, take notes, and edit and revise their work. Tests help students realize that they can pass and get good grades. After the student realizes this, he or she will want to study for every test.
In a world with no tests children probably would not go to school. But lets just say they did, all right. Now kids would not have good teachers, and the teachers would not really know anything, because they were not tested as students. No
