Life Is Beautiful: Review
Life is Beautiful is a funny yet sad story about love and war. The main characters are Guido and Dora. Guido is played by Roberto Beni and Dora is portrayed by
Love is portrayed throughout this play with the character Guido who falls in love Dora. Guido is an interesting character because he always take a bad situation and made it romantic and funny. An example of this is when he was on the bicycle going down the hill and he could not stop and he fell on Dora. He made the most out of it by saying something really nice to her. He did not lay there and frown on the situation. He is also very interesting because he is a very good parent. He shows this when he was being taken to the consecration camp. He tried his best not to expose his child to the hatred of another because of race. He protected his child from being killed by telling him that they were just playing a game and at the end he was going to win a real tank. He risked his own life so that his son would live. This shows how much love he had for his son.
This movie also gave the reader an idea of what it was like in the Holocaust. The movie shows how Jews were treated because of their beliefs before the Holocaust. An example of this is when Guido and his son were walking down the street and his son read out the sign saying "No Jews allowed". The movie also showed how the elders and children were treated in the consecration camps. An example of this is when Guido was walking in the mist with his son and he saw the skeletons of the old and the children all heaped up together.
This movie is wonderful movie. I enjoyed it very much. Although the subtitles made it hard for me to keep up sometimes this was still one of the best movies I have ever seen.
