As I sit at the beach and watch the waves crash down on to the rocks, a gulls lands on the shore where the waves meet the sand. The cool, blue sea lolls back and forth at a cool, slow pace. The hot sand has a fine tint of gold. I pick some up and let it sift through my hands. A gray and white gull lands in front of me. I toss some sand at it and it flies out of sight.
             As my eyes drift back to the sea, a fish jumps and lands with a small splash. Two gulls pick at a pile of kelp that floats at the top. It clings on to the soft ground of the sea floor, which is far from the top.
             The sun is at a high point in the sky. The blaze from it beats down on my head. A crab runs right in front of me. It is green with a hint of brown. As it goes past, a gull spots it from high up, swoops down, eats it right up, and spits out the crab's claws. The bird flies out of sight. I watch it, and as I do, I see how bright blue the sky is. There is not a cloud in sight, so the rest of the day should be just as warm as it is now.
             In a few hours, the deep red sun starts to set. It is quite a sight. The bold shades of orange, pink, and red pierce the sky. The thin clouds that float near the sea are stained by the same bright hues. The shape of a large, dark, bird hits the sea with a loud splash. It comes up with its catch, which gleams in the light of the sun.
