             The concept of war is frightening and fascinating at the same time. It allows an individual to find where they fit in and how everyone else relates as well. The need to go out to war reaches us via propaganda. A solution should be found, but violence is difficult to substitute.
             Identity is something people can spend their whole lives trying to find. There are leaders and followers, and it is up to you to figure out how you want to be known. Should one be a freedom loving, patriotic modern day savior? Maybe the sounds of a free spirited, peaceful dove is more appealing. There is a sense of comfort in finding a name to call yourself. Your actions will be driven by the image you want to prevail.
             Propaganda reaches the subconscious. Everywhere we look, it can be seen. With all the modern day war movies, fighting for freedom has become an almost romantic concept. Who would not enjoy going out and saving the world? Except this time, instead of a superhero saving us from eminent doom, we have war heroes. Propaganda can be seen reaching the minds of little boys in the form of GI Joe's ("The True American Hero"). Not that the toy is wrong, but it is obvious what concept is trying to be sold here. There is a commercial on the television about a GI Joe movie coming out. Even to me, it looks like an interesting movie to go see. How could an eager young mind be able to resist? Teaching the children that war is "cool" will allow them as young men to travel across the seas to fight our seemingly inhuman foes. Now that we are on the brink of war, American Pride is everywhere. Respect should be given to the flag and all it stands for. What I am trying to point out are all pro-army advertisements on the television, in magazines, in the airports, on bumper stickers, on lighters, and anywhere else you can think of.
