Until Angels Close my Eyes

             The story 'Until Angels Close My Eyes' was a very emotional story that revolves around how Cancer dramatically changes life. At the beginning, I assumed that this book was would be a tiresome, dull, uninteristing just like the other books that i've read about family problems. However, just reading the 1/4 of the book, I realized that I had judged the book by it's cover! This was one of the greatest books that i have read. It was about a girl who undergoes emotional phases when her step father gets liver cancer.
             Leah, a 17 year old who was just cured from bone cancer, discovers that her loving stepfather Niel diagnosed with liver cancer. She had considered him to be her father because he was the only male influence in her life. She hoped for him to be cured. Unfortunately, liver cancer cannot be cured easlily, because it is where the dead red blood cells are collected to regenerate new blood cells. She craved to see Ethan (her boyfriend) - an Amish boy who she met in her summer vacation in Nappanee (in Ohio or Tenessee). So far, she has told him everything about herself and with her new problem, her desire to meet him grew stronger.
             From being a strong, vibrant, energetic man, Leah's step father became frail and weak from liver cancer. He felt that he betrayed Leah for not telling about his cancer condition before. However, the main reason why he did didn't tell her was because she was just cured from bone cancer and didn't want to put another burden in her back. Niel was taking Chemotherapy treatment for his cancer. Chemotherapy has many side effects - losing of hair, becoming weaker and more.
             Leah's mother Roberta realized that her husband was diagnosed with cancer that she became emotional. He was a great husband for her - he was charming, loving, caring, nice, thoughtful... This was the only family that actually lasted for her, unlike her other families. She didn't want to lose him.
