Nope, not at all. These people want it completely off the market. There are many different opinions on this topic and a lot of different viewpoints as well.
             Today's music is extremely controversial. There are so many different types of music today that it's hard to point fingers at any one certain style for corruption. Although rap is the most targeted, all sorts of music have been accused of having provocative content from rock and roll to rap to country. Music is a form of expression. Hence, musicians are expressing themselves through their music with content such as race, religion, politics, sex, violence, and rebellion which they put into their lyrics. Music has been around since the beginning of time, but for how much more time will music exist if our government interferes with it? The main targets for music censorship are teens. The United States government and many older people say that music influences what teens do. For instance, many rap songs such as "The Way I Am" by Eminem talk about drugs and murder. Some people believe that teens believe in the lyrics to the music so much that they do what the music is talking about. Some reasons for these beliefs have some evidence backing them. For instance, an eighteen year old boy shoots himself in the head while heavy metal music blasts from his car stereo. A fourteen year old girl stabs her mother to death. A teenager pled guilty to mutilating cats and using their blood to scrawl 666 on an elementary school wall. In a report by Dr. Stephen King, a child Psychiatrist, said he found that eighty three percent of his patients listened to heavy metal music, fifty percent of them knew the words and fifty nine percent of them admitted to a chemical dependency of some kind.
