When we look at the most significant people throughout history, one name seems to clearly stand out. That person is Jesus Christ: Jesus of Nazareth. No other name has inspired greater devotion, evoked greater reverence, or ignited greater controversy. The name Jesus seems to be a source of great controversy amongst various people and religions. Who is Jesus? This seems to be a question that has resounded loudly throughout the generations. Some would see him as a prophet or great teacher while others would claim he was just a lunatic. Some would even go as far as to deny his existence, that somehow Jesus was just a made up character. Even Jesus asked this question concerning himself to his followers. If we look in the bible in Matthew 16:13,15, Jesus Himself asked this question to his disciples .
Although there are many views on who Jesus is amongst non-religious people, Roman Catholics, Muslims, Biblical Critics, Evangelical Christians, the belief that Jesus is Messiah of the Old Testament prophecies is fundamental amongst evangelical Christians. For the majority of Christians, including those most energetically engaged in dialogue, Jesus is not merely a background figure. He is central to the Christian faith. Not only does the Christian dialogue realize this, but so do their Muslim, Buddhist, Shinto, Hindu and Jewish conversational partners. Wherever one starts any honest dialogue between Christianity and others will sooner or later¡have to deal with the figure of Jesus. Although many biblical critics deny Jesus is the Messiah of the Old Testament, in my thesis, I will provide biblical and scholastic proof that Jesus is the Messiah as prophesied in the Old Testament.
