As I read this book I noticed that it was a book full of moral and ethical decisions, decisions about life and death, decisions about the truth or to keep it quiet, a lie of silence.
             So, I like to write this essay from that point of view, the decisions in this book. This book ends rather dramatic and tragic and I'd like to see which decisions led to the end of Michael Dillons life.
             In the beginning of the book Dillon makes his decision to leave his wife and go to London. These two decisions may have been important to Dillon in that period of his life, but as you look at what happens after this it seem as only a minor problem, which didn't have a real impact on the end of his life.
             I think for Dillon the decision to call the police and report the bomb must have been the hardest decision to make, to choose between his wife and all those people. Dillon made this decision as he makes most of his decisions, impulsively, which is logical because if he had really thought about it, I think he wouldn't have been able to make this decision.
             Still this decision wouldn't have made a difference in the way he died. If he hadn't called the police but did testify he still would have ended the way he did. So the fact that he had seen Kevs face, the decision of Moira to tell a reporter about this and to testify were more important. His wife told a reporter that Dillon had seen Kevs face and by doing so she knew she risked his life, just as he had risked hers. If she hadn't done this he would still be alive, because by telling the reporter this she told it in fact to the IRA.
             Still he got two more chances after this, to save his life. When the priest visited him for the first time, he asked Dillon not to testify. If Dillon had said that he wouldn't testify he probably would have been saved. But, I think the decision to testify was made long before, in his heart, he couldn&
