             Highly diverse and technologically complicated product design has increased severity and frequency of injuries. The reasons for product injuries are the product defects. There are three different types of defects that a product may have: a defect in manufacturing, in design, and in warning or instruction.
             A product has a manufacturing defect when it is not built according to its specifications and is consequently unsafe. For example, during manufacture an employee might install a bolt backwards, or there might be a hidden flaw in the metal from which the product is made.
             A design defect is much more difficult to define because there is no clear standard against which the product can be evaluated. Product is defectively designed if the product is more dangerous than an ordinary consumer would expect or if the benefits of the product's design do not outweigh its risks.
