Evolution - Is It Scientific?

f decreasing complexity." Entropy is formally defined by a strict mathematical adherence to direct observations. Scientists have come to recognize that energy and mass are conserved; they can neither be created nor destroyed but are simply conserved in all observable processes. (Energy and matter are interchangeable as to E=mc2.) We have never had any process refute this law. All things are conserved. (Even in the realm of quantum mechanics this law holds true.)
All natural or spontaneous processes exhibit an increase in entropy, or an increase in disorder. No spontaneous process can exhibit a decrease in entropy, or an increase in order.
Complexity is always characterized by order, and simplicity by disorder. Materials simply will go to an disorganized state when left on their own. To illustrate a simple application of the law of entropy, consider an air tight room with an imaginary dividing wall down the middle. The room is filled with air. The air is equally distributed throughout the room. Now let us consider a violation of the law of entropy: Suppose we have plenty of time to wait, billions of years if necessary, and no one is allowed to interfere. How long would one have to wait before spontaneity or self-transformation, would take place? That is, for all of the molecules of air to go to the left side of the room leaving no molecules on the right side. How long would it take for a fluctuation from the normal (uniform pressure) of sufficient magnitude for all the gas from the right side to rush to the left side? The thermodynamicist answers assuredly that this will never happen because it would be a violation of the inviolable law of entropy! Mathematically it is possible, but in actual circumstances this would be impossible.
The doctrine of organic evolution, a doctrine of spontaneity, dogmatically asserts in effect that time's arrow for life processes points naturally in the direction of increasing
