Foreshadowing is a good way to find out what can happen before you even finish the story. All you do is read details carefully and you might figure it out. For example, the story called The Most Dangerous Game has many foreshadowing events in it. Rainsford's intelligence in the story. He has to try to survive. Some examples are, him using commonsense to fool the general, us ancient traps he learned to hurt the general, and be a quick thinker to survive a life-treating escape.
             One example of foreshadowing is when he setup a trap to hurt the general. He bent a tree and tied a trigger on the ground. When the general would stop on the trigger, the tree would land on the general." Throwing off his sack off food, Rainsford took his knife from its sheath and began to work with all his energy [to build a trap]" (80). This shows how he had learned to make a trap in his earlier years, and using his knowledge to hurt the general, he got away. This is one example of how intelligent he is because it shows how he can use prior knowledge to get out of a quick situation.
             Another example of foreshadowing of Rainsford's intelligence is when he dug a Burmese tiger pit. He used his hands and his knife to dig a hole. He then used his knife to sharpen bamboo poles and stick them in the ground. He then covered it with twigs and leaves to hide the trap and hopefully have the general fall in and get hurt. " The pit grew deeper; when it was above his shoulders, he climbed out and from some hard saplings, cut stakes and sharpened them to a fine point. These stakes he planted in the bottom of the pit with the points sticking up" (81). This shows that he uses skills and his brain to hurt and maybe kill the general.
             The last example of foreshadowing for Rainsford's intelligence is he tying a knife to a sapling, and pulling the sapling back to a tree. Then he puts a trigger on the ground. &q
